So I Did the Tone It Up 5 Day Detox…

And I LOVED it! Like almost every other person in the world, one of my goals (I’m calling them goals instead of resolutions this year) is to get in shape and get healthier. But this year, I really mean it! I hate looking in the mirror and I feel tired and “blah” everyday, and I know it’s from what I’m eating and drinking – “you are what you eat!” And in my case, I’m unhealthy. Going into 2018, I knew I needed a jumpstart; so some of my besties and I did the Tone It Up 5 Day Detox… it was free, so why not?!

A few days before it started, the TIU girls sent an email with the meal plan, step-by-step recipes, daily workouts, and some motivational tips to get us through the week. I made my grocery list, did grocery pickup (my new favorite thing), and started to meal prep the Sunday before. Like all weekly meal preps, it took a couple hours to do everything, but it saved me SO much time during the week.

For this detox, you start with a Morning Mocktail that consists of Apple Cider Vinegar,9419c398-1183-4bd7-8eb0-96a6d579cd5a_1.ca6c2cad93a9a4c1cf6f5301507eb3c7 lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and a few other ingredients. Let me tell y’all, the firstmorning I drank this… I thought for sure I was going to die. It was disgusting! My besties agreed, so we brainstormed some different ways to get it down. The next day, I added some juice to the mix, and it was so much better! There are so many benefits to drinking Apple Cider Vinegar, so I plan to continue drinking it every morning. Some health benefits of drinking ACV include: promotes good bacteria in your stomach, detoxes the body, regulates pH, helps with weight loss, balances blood sugar, and so much more!

There was a Slimming Soup that we had 4 times throughout the week, and it was delicious! It had vegetable broth, lots of veggies, and some cayenne pepper in it (cayenne pepper was a frequent ingredient in this detox, so they’re must be some benefits to it too).

I saved the 5 Day Detox plan in my cabinet, and I plan to do it again when I need a kick start. Tone It Up has so many other challenges and meal plans that you can sign up for on their website, so I’ve been looking into doing that too.
